What to book

The three things worth paying for.

At USD 3,330 to 6,370 per couple the villa is already handled. What separates an anniversary trip from a week away is what you add to it.

  • Dining, arranged in advance Private beach dinners, rice-paddy tables and floating breakfasts. All bookable through the villa rather than separately.
  • The spa, properly Balinese treatments for two, in the villa or at the resort spa. Worth a half day rather than an hour.
  • One thing on the water Snorkelling at Nusa Penida, or the USS Liberty wreck at Tulamben for couples who dive.
  • A night out, if you want one Seminyak beach clubs for the evening. Easy to reach from a south coast base, a long drive from Ubud.

Everything else is arranged so that the night itself does not have to be organised by you.

Tell the villa the date

Decorated room on arrival, flower bath, cake. All of it needs notice, and none of it is expensive.

02 The day

Nothing in the morning

Floating breakfast in the pool, then the spa. The point is to not be in a car.

03 The night

Dinner that is not a restaurant

A private table on the beach, or set out in the rice paddies. Both are arranged through the villa.

04 After

Move, or do not

Ubud to South Bali gives the trip two halves. Staying put gives it a rhythm. Neither is wrong.

Villas need a few days of notice for a decorated room or a private dinner. A week is comfortable.
