Two bases, five nights.

Most packages are built on the same shape, because it is the one that works: inland first, coast second.

01 Arrival

Land at Ngurah Rai

Denpasar is the only international gateway. Transfers are usually inside the package, which matters most on the night you arrive.

02 Nights 1-2

Ubud, for the jungle

Rice terraces, river valleys and the quietest sleep of the trip. Good while you are still adjusting to the time.

03 Night 3

Move south

One driver, one leg. The drive is real in traffic, so it is planned rather than discovered.

04 Nights 4-5

Seminyak or Uluwatu

Beach clubs and dining, or the cliff and the sunset. This is where the add-ons usually land.

Shorter trips drop the move and stay in one place. Longer ones add a third base rather than more driving.

What is bundled

What a package actually covers.

Accommodation, transfers and a set of activities, in one booking. Packages start at USD 3,330 per couple for seven days and six nights, and run to USD 6,370 for ten days and nine nights.

  • The villa, with the pool Private pool villas are the default for honeymoons rather than an upgrade. The floating breakfast usually comes with it.
  • Airport and inter-base transfers Both legs, with the same driver. This is the line people most often forget to budget when booking separately.
  • Romantic add-ons Private candlelight dinner, couples spa treatment, flower bath. Either inside the package or added to it.
  • What is not in it Flights, most dining and anything ticketed. Prices reference USD, but you will pay in Indonesian Rupiah on the ground.

Getting in
Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, on visa exemption or visa on arrival for most leisure visitors. Check the current rule before you fly.
Money
Indonesian Rupiah on the ground, even where rates are quoted in US dollars.
When to go
April to October is the dry season and suits outdoor evenings. November to March is wetter, quieter and cheaper.
Getting married
A legal marriage needs documents from Indonesia and from your home country, including an affidavit of no impediment. Symbolic ceremonies and vow renewals carry no legal requirement.
